Day 7: Eagle Rock & Warner Springs Resource Center

Start: Mile 94.5 Trailside Camp

End: Mile 109.5 Warner Springs Resource Center

We we up at 5:10 this morning and hiking by 6:20. We were motivated to get to the Warner Springs Resource Center as they provide bucket showers, laundry facilities, a small store (drinks, snacks and hiker food for the trail). They also provide WiFi which allows me to post these blogs.

Shortly after starting our hike we reached Mile 100

As we continued on we dropped down out of the desert hills and entered an area of grasslands and cattle grazing. Then we continued on to Eagle Rock.Shortly afterward we arrived at the Warner Springs Resource Center where we bought some cold drinks, took a bucket shower, did some laundry in a sink and picked up our resupply at the local Post Office. We sent up our tent in the field amongst the other hiker’s tents. The local high school was having a fundraising dinner of beef stew, salad and bread for $7 per person so we went across the street for dinner. Then we enjoyed another sunsetThanks for checking in and Happy Trails.

  • We liked the siesta picture. You two looked so comfortable.Pretty amazing how the angels leave all that water in the middle of nowhere. And then getting fresh beef stew. Sounds like your lifestyle is changing. We are enjoining all of the blogs and pictures. Almost makes us want to try the same experiences. Safe travels.

  • Love Eagle Rock! Another stunning sunset! 100 miles! Congratulations! Only a few thousand more miles to go! Enjoy!
